Most of the rocks have been hand collected from the southern tip of Vancouver Island, off the coast of British Columbia. This is a part of a physiogeological region called the Insular Belt. A variety of volcanics, intrusions and sedimentary rocks occur here. The Insular Belt is not connected to the North American continent making the rocks here unique.
Materials include Basalt, Quartz, Chert, Granite, Porphyry, Breccia and Jasper. Occasionally, friends bring me back rocks from their travels. As well, I do commissioned pieces.
